Retail and wholesale provide essential services and are transforming significantly while facing tremendous challenges. The sector is uniquely positioned to help Europe advance its digital and sustainability trajectory, but it requires support in several areas.
During this conference, we will engage with high-level industry representatives and hear from the Commission about how they can support investments in the transformation of our sector in these currently challenging times.
We will discuss the impact of the economic situation on retail and wholesale with McKinsey and the European Commission. A special panel with representatives from NGOs, the European Commission, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and our sector will debate in more detail why sustainability can also be an opportunity in times of crisis. We will launch the Pact for Skills for retail and wholesale and address the Transition Pathway the European Commission is crafting for our sector.
